Stewed Oxtails with Root Vegetables

We followed the recipe for oxtail stew from “The Gift of Southern Cooking” by Edna Lewis and Scott Peacock.

The oxtails after browning in butter and making the whole house smell delish.

The finished product, stewed oxtails with carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, turnips, onions, celery and garlic, served with a side of sauteed Swiss chard.
