CSA: Week 4

June 23, 2011 by Sara Kreidler

We’ve been doing a great job, if I do say so myself, of using up the weekly CSA box contents.  When I cleaned out the  fridge tonight prior to depositing the latest haul, all that remained from last week’s box was a small bowl of butter lettuce and some herbs and garlic scapes, all of which are still very fresh.

Hard to believe it is week 4 already and that the 4th of July is just around the corner.  This week’s box contains:

  • 1 bunch red radishes
  • 1 large bag of mesclun greens (yellow bowl)
  • 1 bunch swiss chard
  • 1 head red leaf lettuce
  • 2 quarts of strawberries
  • 1 head romaine lettuce
  • 1 bunch scallions
  • Basil and garlic scapes (in the plastic bag in the top left corner behind the veggie display, because I had a really long day at work and was too tired to be bothered with taking a lot of pictures this evening)
