CSA 2012: Week 4

June 24, 2012 by Sara Kreidler

Each week, I post a photo of one “featured” item from our weekly CSA box and provide a list of all of the contents of the week’s box.  Later in the week, I post either a cooking or canning recipe that uses the featured ingredient.  You know, sort of like Sesame Street’s letter of the day.

I couldn’t pick just one featured item this week, so you’re getting two.  And I’m going to do my damn best to timely post a recipe for each item this week.  Here goes nothing.

The third week’s featured CSA items are (drumroll please): thyme and peas.

This week’s box includes:

  • Spinach
  • Peas
  • Kale
  • Cabbage
  • Radishes
  • Scallions
  • Garlic scapes
  • Oregano
  • Thyme
  • Zucchini
  • Rainbow chard
  • Butter lettuce
  • Romaine lettuce

So lovely to see thyme and peas together. Two things the world can never have enough of: THYME and PEAS…
